{"id":160,"date":"2008-06-03T18:01:44","date_gmt":"2008-06-03T07:01:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elyk.com\/blog\/2008\/06\/03\/banana-for-people\/"},"modified":"2008-06-09T20:01:34","modified_gmt":"2008-06-09T09:01:34","slug":"banana-for-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elyk.com\/blog\/2008\/06\/03\/banana-for-people\/","title":{"rendered":"Banana For People"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We were all up early, so we could get a head start on the last little bit of the trek.\u00c2\u00a0 The french fries we&#8217;d had for dinner were so good that we ordered two more for breakfast.\u00c2\u00a0 After everyone was finally up, we got underway.\u00c2\u00a0 More of the same on the trek, but with a few more goats and some waterfalls.\u00c2\u00a0 Waterfalls running right over the the trail.<\/p>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2275\/2560520680_802d34d804.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8237\" class=\"flickrimg\" \/>\n<p>Our destination was Tina&#8217;s guesthouse, so we stopped there for a drink.\u00c2\u00a0 A few people were planning on spending a night, but I was staying behind.\u00c2\u00a0 Sadly everyone in my group was heading on, so I said goodbye, and had to wait around Tina&#8217;s for Craig, Jonas, Kathy, Roriku, and the Kims.\u00c2\u00a0 They showed up about an hour later, and wanted to eat, so we did that, then made our way back to Jane&#8217;s guesthouse to collect some bags.<\/p>\n<p>The bus back to Lijiang broke down a couple of times in the onset, but after the driver fiddled with a few things, we seemed good to go, and were able to eventually make it back to Mama Naxi&#8217;s guesthouse.\u00c2\u00a0 Wandered around downtown for a bit, and ran into some of the Koreans who hadn&#8217;t gone onto the gorge with us.\u00c2\u00a0 We said our goodbyes to them, then headed back to the guesthouse.\u00c2\u00a0 Kathy, Jonas, Craig and I booked our bus.\u00c2\u00a0 Mama Naxi gave us a bag with some bananas and exclaimed &#8220;Banana four people&#8221;, which we immediately decided ought to be &#8220;Banana For People&#8221;, which seemed like a good Communist propaganda slogan.\u00c2\u00a0 Natalia, a Russian girl living in Ghana, was also heading to Kunming on the bus, so the 5 of us headed to the bus station together.<\/p>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3075\/2559742575_e523537506.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8252\" class=\"flickrimg\" \/>\n<p>Sleeping on the bus is pretty much second nature now &#8211; and I was lucky enough to have two beds, so it was pretty roomy too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We were all up early, so we could get a head start on the last little bit of the trek.\u00c2\u00a0 The french fries we&#8217;d had for dinner were so good that we ordered two more for breakfast.\u00c2\u00a0 After everyone was finally up, we got underway.\u00c2\u00a0 More of the same on the trek, but with a [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[5,56],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/elyk.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/160"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/elyk.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/elyk.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elyk.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elyk.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=160"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/elyk.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/160\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/elyk.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=160"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elyk.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=160"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elyk.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=160"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
